What a free website demo should show you

A demo is only useful if it shows your own business. Here is what to look for before you say yes.

It should be yours, not a template

A demo should use your business name, your services, your area and your photos, not a stock design with your name pasted in. If you could not tell it was made for you, it was not.

Look at the first screen

On a phone, can you see what the business is and tap its number without scrolling? Is the main call to action obvious? A visitor decides quickly, so the first screen matters most.

Read the words

Check the facts: hours, services, address, phone number. A demo should only state things that are true about your business, and nothing that sounds like a promise it cannot keep.

Ask what happens next

A fair demo comes with no pressure. You should know the price, what is included, who owns the finished site and how to walk away. If you do not want it, you owe nothing.
